1. Prempeh College
Prempeh College is a public secondary boarding school for boys located in Kumasi, the capital city of the Ashanti Region, Ghana. The school was founded in 1949 and has the biggest shs campus in Kumasi.
The 4520 students of Prempeh College receive a unique educational experience that enables them to excel academically and occupy positions of responsibility in the outside world. Prempeh’s 55-acre campus is situated just one block from the exact north center of Kumasi. The school has 10 boarding houses. Prempeh College was the first school to win the National Science and Maths Quiz.
2. Opoku Ware Senior High School
Opoku Ware School, often referred to as OWASS, is a public Catholic senior high school for boys, located in Santasi, a suburb of Kumasi, which is the capital of the Ashanti region of Ghana. The school has a total population of about 4029.
This institution was established in 1952 and was named after the Asante King Opoku Ware 1. Students and alumni are known as Akatakiye – the Asante word for conquering heroes.

The school campus covers an area of about 1300 acres (525 hectares). The school is very beautiful in a residential garden-style setting. Achimota School occupies over two square miles (525 hectares) of prime real estate in the middle of the Achimota Forest Reserve in the Accra.
The school’s colonial architecture and planned landscape make it visually pleasing to tour the campus and its wooded countryside-like surroundings. On campus, the three Statues of the founders are arranged in a triangle-like formation with an unknown significance. The campus facilities comprise two libraries, a cadet square, two chapels – the Aggrey Memorial Chapel and the Catholic Chapel: four dining halls, two on the eastern compound and another two on the Western campus, two gymnasia, the Achimota School Post Office, extensive sports playing fields, a swimming pool, a cricket oval, basketball court, tennis and squash courts, and an arboretum. There are several bungalows on campus for teaching staff members.
5. Ghana National College
Ghana National College was founded on 20 July 1948, by the first Ghanaian President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. and currently has a population of about 2800 students. Ghana National College welcomes students from different ethnic, socio-economic and religious backgrounds and is committed to the equality of all persons before God.
6. Yaa Asantewa Girls Senior High School
Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School is one of the few Girls’ Secondary Schools in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school was established in Kumasi in 1959 as part of the rapid Education expansion project pioneered by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The student population is about 2,400 occupying a total land area of about 168.3 acres.
7. Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School
Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School is a publicly-supported Coeducational senior high school in Cape Coast, Ghana. It has a student population of 2323 and a very large campus. The campus land size is 43 acres.

St. Augustine’s College, popularly known as “AUGUSCO”, has a student population size of about 2000 students. The college’s ground and playing fields cover an area of about 130 acres. The college was founded in 1930. one of the oldest senior high schools in Ghana.

10. Accra Academy

11. Aburi Girls Senior High School
