The University for Development Studies Ghana’s first public University in the North was established on 15th May 1992. It has four campuses in all, one at Nyankpala in the Northern Region of Ghana, the other at Navrongo, in the Upper East Region, the third at Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana, and also one in Wa in the Upper West Region.
The University for Development Studies has nine schools: the Graduate School, the School of Allied Health Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Economics, the School of Engineering, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical sciences and the School of Public Health.
Students with West Africa Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) or SSSCE must have at least six (6) credits (A1 – C6) in three Core subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three elective subjects from Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, and Agriculture with a total aggregate of 36 or better.
Mature applicants must be 25 years or above and must have credit passes in five G.C.E ‘O’ Level subjects after which they would be expected to write and pass both a selection examination and an interview
