There are more than 18 aviation schools in Ghana. Which of them is the best? The best aviation schools teach you how to fly air crafts and about air transportation operations, through training that involves actually flying airplanes, using simulators and teaching hours of theory. As you may have guessed, this training is not cheap and can cost about USD 50,000.
Some of the courses you may cover typically includes commercial piloting, multi-engine rating, flight instruction and instrument rating among others. Courses usually take about six months to four years to complete, depending on the qualification you want.
Who qualifies to attend aviation school? Students who have at least 5 passes in SSSCE, or WASSCE, mature students and students who attended a university/technical university can ` apply to attend an aviation school.

Their commercial pilot licence and instrument rating courses takes 12 months with 150 hours of flight and 65 hours of theory. The online version of this course is also available. Tuition for this course is about USD 33,600 with a down payment of USD 4,000. The Requirement for this course is a person with a holder of PPL.
The instructor rating course lasts for 2 months and involves 15 flying hours, 20 hours of theory and 20 hours using a simulator, all for USD 6,000 a month. The requirement for this course is a holder of PPL and CPL.
Their multi-engine rating course is also for 2 months and involves 10 flying hours, 20 hours of theory and 5 hours of simulator training for the price of USD 6,000. The requirement for this course is also a holder of PPL and CPL.
Their frozen air transport licence also lasts for 2 months and involves 10 hours flying, 40 hours of theory and 10 hours using a simulator for USD 7000. The requirement for this course is also a holder of PPL and CPL 12-month course.

9. Ambassador Institute of Aviation
The Ambassador Institute of Aviation was established to provide professional training to prospective Ghanaians and other African nationals for the aviation industry. All courses are tailored to provide skills and expertise to the needs of Airlines, Travel Agencies, Cargo and Hospitality industries. The school is located at North Dzorwulu in Accra.
