Universities in Ghana have schools that specialize in teaching business courses and offer programs in business or management related. There are some schools, however that stand alone as business schools sectioned into faculties, colleges or departments.

  1. UNIVERSITY OF GHANA BUSINESS SCHOOL

The University of Ghana is a public university located in Accra, Ghana. It the oldest and largest of the thirteen Ghanaian national public universities. The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) is a premier business school in the sub-region focused on developing world-class human resources and capabilities to meet national development needs and global challenges, through quality teaching, learning, research and knowledge dissemination.

The school offers various undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes in its six academic departments – Department of Accounting, Department of Finance, Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Department of Operations and Management Information Systems (OMIS), Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), and Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management (PAHSM). 2. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Central University is an educational Initiative of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC). In January 2016, the University College received the long-awaited Presidential Charter to become an autonomous and a fully-fledged university as Central University.  It is co-educational with equal access for male and female enrolment. 

 Central University has eight (8) faculties/schools, including the Central Business School (CBS). 3. GIMPA BUSINESS SCHOOL

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) was established in 1961 as a joint Ghana Government/United Nations (UN) special fund project. GIMPA’s mission is to maintain a Centre of Excellence for training in public and business administration, by continuously enhancing the capability of middle and top-level executives in public and private sectors as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) both in Ghana and internationally

5. UCC SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is a public collegiate university located in the historic town of Cape Coast. The University of Cape Coast was established in October 1962 as a university college in response to the country’s dire need for highly qualified and skilled manpower in the education sector.

UCC School of Business was carved out of the Faculty of Social Sciences. It started as a Department of Business Studies in 1975/1976 academic year. In 1991, it was merged with the Department of Economics; however, the status was reversed during the 1996/1997 academic year when the Department of Business Studies was separated from the Department of Economics. 6. UNIVERSITY OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES (UPSA)

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) formerly known as Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), is a public university in Ghana. The main campus is located in Accra. The university was founded in 1965 as a private professional business education tuition provider and was taken over by government in 1978.  It was subsequently established as a tertiary institution with a mandate to provide tertiary and professional education in Accountancy, Management and other related areas of study

UDS School of Business (SoB) is located at the UDS City Campus in Choggu-a pristine location in the heart of Tamale’s education ridge.
