Senior High Schools in Ghana usually have three uniforms: school clothes, house dress, and the main school uniform. The school cloth is mostly worn by students when they go for religious programmes, the house cloth is also worn when students return from class back to the boarding house and the main school uniform is worn when students go to class or for other official events.

Students usually also have a sports uniform which comes in different colours representing different boarding houses and sometimes a school jacket/tracksuit worn over the other uniforms and a ceremonial dress worn during occasions instead of the main school uniform. This outfit with the red skirt is popularly referred to by the students as “Bloody Mary.” Once again, the look is finished off with a pair of sandals.

For the boys, the dress code is a well-pressed short-sleeved cotton shirt which is cream in colour. The cream shirt is complimented by a pair of khaki shorts ending right on top of the knee or at the middle of the kneecaps, often seen sharply pressed with a straight crease shooting down the length of the shorts from the single pleats in the front.
