
Admission requirements for Ghana Communication Technology University for holders of SSSCE/WASSCE with credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science / Social Studies, and three (3) elective subjects relevant to the chosen program with aggregate 24/36 respectively or better.
An applicant applying for admission to a degree program must have at least credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science (for science-related programs) or Social Studies (for non-science programs) and three elective subjects.
O- LEVEL / A – LEVEL holders must have credits in at least five (5) subjects at the GCE “O” Level (or its equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics, plus at least two (2) passes in the relevant subjects at the advanced level. Such applicants are placed at level 200 of a degree program.
GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS (GBCE) applicants must have credit passes in six (6) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, or Social Studies plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) holders must have credit passes in five (5) subjects including Mathematics and English Language, Integrated Science or Social Studies plus three (3) optional subjects relevant to their program of study. Such applicants are placed at level 200 of a degree program.
Mature applicants must be at least 25 years old at the time of application and show proof of age with a birth certificate that is at least 5 years old or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth. They will then go through an access course in their area of study after which an examination would be conducted. Successful applicants will then be written to commence their studies.
Applicants with an International Baccalaureate (IB) / Diploma must obtain a distinction, credit or pass as decided by the jury. They should also be proficient in English. This is checked through written exams, a verbal interview, and certification from a recognized language institution. Their results will also be verified by GHANA TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION (GTEC.) Admission will be conditional subject to evaluation from GTEC.
Holders of University Diplomas with a GPA score of 2.5 and above will be placed at level 300 in the relevant area of study and a GPA score from 2.0 to 2.49 will be placed at level 200 in the relevant area of study.
For a master’s degree, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second-class Lower Division from an accredited university in a relevant area. Applicants to the MBA programmes must have at least two years of post-graduation work experience.

When you are given the admission letter, they will tell you the course you’ve been offered.
Please with the BSC computer science program, it requires that one should study Elective mathematics at SHS . If someone did not studied e-maths, can the person gain admission to that program?
Generally, computer science is for science students. Arts students are given Information Technology and they must read elective Maths. GCTU has not provided specific guidelines/requirements for each programme so I can’t really tell.
