The general entry requirement into Accra Technical University for all applicants including WASCE/SSSCE applicants is six (6) passes (A1 – D7/A-D) in all subjects including English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and at least three (3) of the subjects must be C6/D or better. The Elective subjects must be relevant to the programme.

Technician applicants must have passes in Part I and Part II technical subjects or a pass in Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD).

DBS qualification with passes in all four (4) subjects, plus two (2) WASSCE passes (A1 –D7) or two (2) SSSCE/ GBCE passes (A – D) in English Language and Mathematics.

GCE ‘A’ LEVEL /ABCE applicants must have four GCE ‘O’ Level/GBCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics and a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level or two (2) ABCE passes in relevant subjects. A pass in General Paper will be an advantage.

Applicants who want to top-up must have a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in a relevant field with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division.

Mature applicants must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age by 30th June 2023 and must attach proof of age with birth certificates or other legitimate documentary evidence to the completed application forms. In addition, Mature applicants must pass the Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The mature candidate must have relevant working experience in the subject area.

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in the English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

    1. Please, look at the article well. All the 2-YEAR TOP-UP BTECH DEGREE PROGRAMMES are weekend programmes.
      Beside every programme I have written weekend in bracket, meaning it is a weekend programme.

  1. Please I want my son to enroll in this university but unfortunately, he got D7 in English only and he passed the rest with A1-B3. Please can he enroll in a Bachelor programme not Diploma

    1. universities do not accept D7. It is best if he re-writes English. He can apply though.

  2. Please about the BTECH programs for 2yrs topup ;does it mean you have to choose for instance HND and still decide to do top up of the BTECH programs of only 2yrs

    1. SURE You can but I can’t tell if you’ll gain admission or not. You stand a good chance though.

    1. If you have a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in a relevant field with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division then you do top-up for two years to get a degree.
      As an shs student you can apply to read BTECH (evening/evening) for 4 years or you can read diploma (morning/evening)

  6. Please I want to know if I can merge two wassce results, to fill ATU forms, and it’s different result too, I had D7 in C.maths and english and pass them in 2018 reault , 2018 wassce result(Technical), and 2023 wassce result(General Art.)

    1. Yes, you can offer Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management or HND Tourism Management or HND Hotel, Catering, and Institutional Management

These are the requirements if you want to read BTECH Electrical/Electronic Engineering: Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects, namely Applied Electricity, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Technical Drawing, ICT, Electronics, and Biology

  13. I had d7 in maths ..I would like to offer hnd in interior design and technology but I offered visual arts in shs ..would it be possible for me to apply ?? Will I get admission??
