The admission requirement to read PhD programmes at the University of Education Winneba is that an applicant should possess a Researched Master’s Degree in the relevant field of study from an accredited institution, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 in the course work and at least grade “B” in the thesis/dissertation.

To read one-year MPhil programmes at UEW, candidates must possess a Master of Education/Master of Arts/Master of Science, with a GPA of not less than 3.0, in the relevant field of study from any university recognised by GTEC. For a 2-year MPhil programme, candidates must possess a first degree with at least a Second Lower Class Division in the relevant field of study from any recognised university.

To read Masters Programmes, applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree (at least 2nd Class Lower Division), with an Education component (e.g. B.Ed.), or without an Education component (e.g. B.A., B.Sc.) from the University of Education, Winneba or its equivalent from a recognised University in the relevant field of study. Applicants with third (3rd) class division may be considered for admission on the grounds of substantial working/professional experience and shall pass an entrance examination and interview.

UEW postgraduate fees for regular PhD students are from about 10,192 GHS to about 15,314 GHS per year and from 2,985 GHS to 7,962 GHS per year for Masters programmes.
