The admission requirement to read PhD programmes at the University of Education Winneba is that an applicant should possess a Researched Master’s Degree in the relevant field of study from an accredited institution, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 in the course work and at least grade “B” in the thesis/dissertation.

To read one-year MPhil programmes at UEW, candidates must possess a Master of Education/Master of Arts/Master of Science, with a GPA of not less than 3.0, in the relevant field of study from any university recognised by GTEC. For a 2-year MPhil programme, candidates must possess a first degree with at least a Second Lower Class Division in the relevant field of study from any recognised university.

To read Masters Programmes, applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree (at least 2nd Class Lower Division), with an Education component (e.g. B.Ed.), or without an Education component (e.g. B.A., B.Sc.) from the University of Education, Winneba or its equivalent from a recognised University in the relevant field of study. Applicants with third (3rd) class division may be considered for admission on the grounds of substantial working/professional experience and shall pass an entrance examination and interview.

UEW postgraduate fees for regular PhD students are from about 10,192 GHS to about 15,314 GHS per year and from 2,985 GHS to 7,962 GHS per year for Masters programmes.

          1. These are the requirements:

            a. Applicants must possess:
            i. C.G.P.A. of not less than 3.0 from M.A. (Master of Arts) from the University of
            Education, Winneba or other recognised universities.
            ii. A minimum degree of 2nd Class Lower Division in Master of Arts from University of
            Education, Winneba or other recognised Universities.
            b. Applicants will be required to submit detailed proposal of their intended research, which will
            be presented with the second year regular M.Phil. (Human Rights) Students.

            The fees are GHC 9,538.00

            Duration for M. PHIL. IN HUMAN RIGHTS, PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES is 2 years and top-up is 1 year.

  2. How much is the fee for counseling psychology per sandwich semester.
    And the semester, is it long vacation or every vacation.
    What is the duration for graduates who already have their first degree and wanted to do Masters.
    The fees, is it yearly basis or they pay every vacation?

    1. PhD (Special Education/Conselling Psychology) is 24,695. M.Phil (Counselling Psychology) is 9,538. The semester is every vacation. The fees is every year. Masters is two years depending on the course.

  7. Good morning sir. I applied for med sped for the 2024/25 academic year and the admission letter was full of typo errors indicating that I have been admitted to med sped 2023/2024 instead of 2024/2025 academic year among other things.

    I slap received admission on 26 September asking me to pay at deadline 27 September.

    Please confirm the authenticity of the letter and the fee for the med sped. I want to know the least initial payment and whether the payment is not late.

    Again, are some M ed. Programs run on course work only? or strictly by dissertation?
