The National Service Scheme (NSS) in Ghana facilitates the deployment of graduates to various organisations for a one-year mandatory service. Agencies seeking to engage National Service Personnel (NSP) can do so through two primary methods:
- Online Registration via the Flair Platform
- Manual Submission of a Request Letter to the NSS Headquarters or Regional Offices
1. Online Registration via the Flair Platform
The Flair platform is an official online portal introduced by the NSS to streamline the process of requesting service personnel. It allows agencies to specify the number and qualifications of personnel needed.
Steps to Register and Request Personnel via Flair:
a. Create a Company Account on Flair
- Visit the Flair Employer Signup Page.

- Provide necessary details, including:
- Business Registration Certificate
- Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Registrar General Department (RGD) Number
- Registered Company Name
- GPS Address
- Company Contact Information
- Ghana Card of an authorised company representative
b. Link Your Flair Account to NSS
- Log in to your Flair account.
- Navigate to the ‘NSS Request’ section.
- Click on “Connect to NSS”.
- Enter your company details and search.
- If your company appears, select it and upload an authorisation letter on your official letterhead (sample below).
- Submit the request and await approval from NSS. The approval takes no more than 48 hours.
* If your company does not appear, email Flair requesting that they set up an NSS account for your company. It takes a while after making the request, so be patient. Once it’s done, you’ll receive an email, you can then proceed to steps 3 – 6
c. Request for Service Personnel
- Once approved, go to the ‘NSS Request’ section.
- Click on “Make Request”.
- Choose between:
- Specific Request: For personnel with known NSS numbers.
- General Request: Based on required skills or qualifications.
- For specific requests, enter the NSS number(s) and add them to your request cart.
- For general requests, specify the desired qualifications and number of personnel.
- Review and submit your request.
d. Monitor Your Request Status
- In your Flair dashboard, navigate to the ‘Requests’ section.
- Here, you can view the status of your submitted requests.
2. Manual Submission of a Request Letter
Agencies preferring a traditional approach can submit a formal request letter to the NSS.
Steps for Manual Submission:
a. Draft a Request Letter
- Use your official letterhead.
- Address the letter to:
- The Executive Director
