10. Ho Technical University (HoTU)

Tracing its origins to a 1968 technical institute, HoTU in the Volta Region achieved university status in 2020. It offers HND and BTech programmes in Civil, Electrical/Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering.

HoTU admission requirement for engineering is a WASSCE aggregate cut-off of 36. Applicants must possess (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and any three (3) elective subjects relevant to their area of specialisation (Engineering Science, Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Metal Work and Technical Drawing).

Facilities include a Renewable Energy Lab, Construction Materials Testing Centre, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, which supports student-run engineering start-ups.

HoTU ranks tenth for its rapid infrastructure development, focus on renewable technologies, and close ties with local industries in Volta, fostering applied research and community empowerment.
